You can increase the level of obedience in a dog without saying a command word. Notice how the first two times Hank looked at me and I marked “good”. But then the second he offered a sit (calmer state) with eye contact I said “yes” and paid him . Then he did the same a second time . Teaching calmness around dogs and focus on me instead of dog . Build value in your words and use selectively
Tomorrow (3/6/19) will be 1 year anniversary of training "Molly", one of the best dogs I've trained. She is doing recall "here" under high distractions - BIRDS!

It could save your dog’s life.
If something horrible should happen, a voice controlled dog has the ability to respond and retreat quickly to safety.
You get to take your dog with you to more places.
Puppy training will allow your pup to be welcome in far more places if they have been taught some basic manners.
You will develop a stronger bond with your dog.
Your dog learns how to respond to you, what makes you happy, and what makes you angry.
As you do things together, you build respect and trust, and the relationship you have deepens.
Dog Training allows you to understand your dog.
The more time you spend with your dog, the better understanding you have of their needs,
and what they are trying to communicate with you.
Both of you will live happier lives.
The happier your dog, the less likely they are to develop behavior issues,
which means a much happier life for you.
Have your dog trained by a Certified Dog Trainer. You want to have someone who knows how a dog thinks & learns, not just someone who calls him/herself a trainer as the state of NC is unregulated.
There is an optimum time to train your puppy. From 8-16 weeks is the prime Bonding, Socialization, Potty, & Crate Training period. Socialization training focuses on acclimation to new people, dogs, sounds, surfaces and places. Potty and/or crate training is focused on creating consistent routines and structure.
For Obedience/Problem Training, commands such as heel, come, no, sit, down and place are optimally taught from 4 months and older. The adolescence period of a dog is 6-18 months- a very important time to address obedience and/or problem behavior as negative behaviors such as chewing, biting, nipping, jumping, aggression, etc., if not addressed timely, will double in intensity by the age of one and triple by age two.
Did You Know?
Puppies should not be left in the crate longer than the number of months old they are +1, in hours. (Ex. 2-month old = 3 hrs. max).
